  • Slow-moving thunderstorms may create flash-flooding over parts of Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois.
  • Slight risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of Montana and western North Dakota today.
  • Monsoon activity will continue during the next few days north of the Four Corners Region.
  • Very hot weather over southeast California through Sunday; excessive heat expected over much of the Plains next week.

Pacific:

— Southern CA Coachella Valley and San Diego County Deserts: Excessive Heat Watch Friday through Sunday. Temperatures as high as 116 deg F. I-8, I-10 impacted.

Mountain:

Southwest, central and east-central MT and adjacent northwest ND: Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms, including damaging winds and large hail, are possible today and early tonight. I-15, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

— Much of UT east of I-15: Flood Watch this afternoon and evening for excessive rainfall and flash flooding from monsoon thunderstorms. I-70 potentially impacted.

— North-central and northwest CO: Flash Flood Watch this afternoon and evening. I-70 potentially impacted.

— Portions of south-central AZ: Excessive Heat Warning Saturday afternoon and evening. Temperatures 110-114 deg F. I-10, I-17 impacted.

Central:

Portions of northwest and central WI parallel and to the north of I-94: Flash Flood Warnings through mid-morning. Up to 3-5 inches of rain has fallen overnight with rain rates of one inch / hour. Streams and small rivers may rise rapidly. Seek higher ground immediately if you are in this area.

— Central and southeast WI; western IA; northwest and central IL: Chance of slow-moving thunderstorms dropping several inches of rain today and tonight. Be alert for Flash Flood Advisories and Warnings, especially if traveling or camping near streams or small rivers that may rise rapidly. I-39, I-41, I-43, I-55, I-74, I-80, I-88, I-90 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant weather impacting RV travel today or Saturday.
