Travel & RV Weather Forecast Friday 10 June


  • A cluster of severe thunderstorms is expected to move from the ArkLaTex to the Central Gulf Coast this morning and into the afternoon. Greatest threat is damaging straight line winds.
  • Heat wave will impact Texas, the Southwest, and interior California through the weekend.
  • Heavy rains continue for Washington state, then move into northern Idaho and adjacent Montana.

Pacific:

— Portions of northwest, central, and south-central WA: Flood Watches through Sunday for excessive rainfall. I-84, I-90 potentially impacted.

— Northern CA Sacramento Valley, the Delta, and northern San Joaquin Valley: Excessive Heat Warnings today and Saturday. Forecast high temperatures 100 – 106 deg F. I-5, I-80, CA-99 impacted.

— Southern Central CA interior valleys, including southern Salinas Valley, Antelope Valley, and interior San Luis Obispo County Valleys: Excessive Heat Warning today and Saturday. Temperatures up to 107 deg F. US-101 impacted.

— Interior southern and southeast CA; southern NV: Excessive Heat Warnings today and Saturday. Forecast high temperatures ranging from near 110 deg F in Las Vegas to around 120 deg F in Death Valley. I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, CA-58 impacted.

Mountain:

— Much of northern ID and adjacent northwest MT: Flood Watches late tonight through Monday for excessive rainfall. I-90 potentially impacted.

— Much of WY: Wind gusts 30-40 mph Saturday afternoon. Advisories possible. I-25, I-80 impacted.

— Western, central and much of southern AZ: Excessive Heat Warnings today and Saturday. Forecast high temperatures of 105 -116 deg F expected. I-10, I-17, I-40 impacted.

— Northwest KS, and adjacent NE and CO: Dense Fog Advisory through mid-morning. I-70 impacted.

Central:

— Northwest KS, and adjacent NE and CO: Dense Fog Advisory through mid-morning. I-70 impacted.

— Northeast OK, northwest AR, southwest MO: Flood Watch through mid-morning associated with heavy thunderstorms. I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.

Central and southern AR and adjacent OK and TX; LA except southwest portion of state; MS except northeast portion of state; southwest AL and far-western FL Panhandle: Severe thunderstorms with damaging straight-line winds are expected today, mainly this morning and afternoon. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-30, I-40, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant weather impacts to RV travel expected today or Saturday.
