  • A significant winter storm will bring ice, sleet and freezing rain from north Texas to the Ohio Valley today and tonight. Untreated roads may become dangerous or impassible due to ice, fallen trees and power lines.
  • High winds and blowing dust today over southeastern Arizona and western, central and southern New Mexico will make for hazardous travel on I-10 and I-25.
  • Heavy snow and strong winds today and tonight over the higher elevations of the Four Corners States.
  • Heavy snow likely for eastern New York and much of New England Thursday night and Friday.

— CA Central and Southern Sierra Nevada: Winter Weather Advisories through this afternoon. Total snow accumulations 1-4 inches between. 2500-4500 feet, with higher amounts at higher elevations.

— Southern CA mountain ranges north and northwest of Los Angeles above 2000 feet: Winter Weather Advisories this morning. 1-3 inches additional snow accumulation possible. I-5 / Grapevine impacted.

— Southern CA Mountains in Riverside and San Diego Counties: Winter Storm Warnings through this evening. An additional 2-6 inches of snow possible. I-8, I-15 impacted.

Eastern NV; most of UT; CO along and west of I-25; central and northern AZ; northern and northwest NM: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today and Thursday. Snow accumulations range from 2-4 inches in the UT and AZ valleys to 1-2 feet in the mountains and higher passes. Wind gusts up to 50 mph. I-15, I-17, I-25, I-40, I-70, I-80 impacted.

Southeast AZ; southeast, south-central and central NM; far-west TX: High Wind Warnings and Advisories today. Gusts 50-60 mph. Blowing dust may suddenly reduce visibility to near zero. I-10, I-25 impacted.

North-central and northeast TX; southwest, central and eastern OK; northern and central AR: central and southern MO; southwest IL: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Thursday night for significant freezing rain, sleet and ice. An inch or two of snow in the northern and eastern areas. Untreated roads may become impassible due to ice. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-70 impacted.

— Southern LA; coastal MS and AL; FL Panhandle and adjacent southern AL; southwest GA: Dense Fog Advisories through midday. I-10, I-12, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-65, I-75 impacted.

— KY and northern TN: Slight risk for flash flooding today and tonight.

— South-central PA and extreme western MD: Winter Storm Watch Thursday afternoon through Friday morning for snow, sleet and freezing rain. Ice accumulations may be significant. I-68, I-70, I-76 / PA Turnpike, I-99 potentially impacted.

— Western and northern NY; central and southern VT; northern and central NH and adjacent ME: Flood Watches today and tonight for a combination of heavy rain and snowmelt.

— Northeastern NY; southern VT and western MA; northwest ME and adjacent northern NH: Wind Advisories today. Gusts 50-55 mph. I-87, I-89, I-90 / Mass Pike / NY Thruway, I-91, I-93 impacted.

Eastern NY; VT; NH; MA; CT; RI; western ME: Winter Storm Watches Thursday night and Friday. Heavy snow likely, potentially 6-12 inches. I-84, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-90 / Mass Pike / NY Thruway, I-91, I-93, I-95 impacted.
