Here’s the long-range travel & RV weather outlook (last updated Sunday 5 December – next update Wednesday)

— Northeast and central CA, east of the Sierras; northwest NV: Winter Storm Watches Wednesday evening through Thursday evening. 1-3 inches snow in the lower valleys and 3-6 inches expected above 5000 feet. Winds could gust up to 40 mph. I-80, US-395 impacted.

— Portions of northern ID, western and south-central MT: Winter Weather Advisories continue through midmorning. Up to an inch additional accumulation possible; roads remain slick. I-25, I-90 impacted.

— Central and east-central NV: Winter Weather Advisories Wednesday evening through Thursday evening. 2-8 inches snow. Expected above 6000 feet. US-50 impacted.

— Northwest MT Rocky Mountain Front: High Wind Warning this evening through Wednesday evening. Gusts to 75 mph. I-15 is east of the warned region.

— South-central WY: Winter Weather Advisories through midday for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Mountain Ranges. 2-3 inches additional accumulation expected with wind gusts to 60 mph.

— Southwest CO: Winter Weather Advisories through midday for the Northwest San Juan, Gore and Elk Mountains. 5-9 inches total snow accumulation; highest amounts above 10,000 feet. Winds could gust to 45 mph.

— MI west-central Lower Peninsula: Winter Weather Advisory through midday for 2-4 inches of lake effect snow. I-96, US-31 impacted.

— NY eastern Lake Ontario Region: Winter Weather Advisory through this afternoon for 2-4 inches of lake effect snow. I-81, I-90/NY Thruway impacted.

— FL north of Lake Okeechobee, except western Panhandle: Dense Fog Advisories through midmorning. I-4, I-10, I-75, I-95 impacted.
