  • Today will bring:
    • Heavy rains to northwest Washington State and the Texas Gulf Coast;
    • Santa Ana winds over Southern California;
    • High winds east of the Montana Rockies; and
    • Rain over the Mississippi and Ohio River Valleys.
  • On Friday, expect lake effect snows for western Pennsylvania and New York and potentially significant snows for Northern New England and far-northern New York.

Here’s the long-range travel & RV weather outlook

— Northwest WA: Flood Watches this evening through Saturday night along portions of the Skokomish and Nooksak Rivers.

— Central CA San Joaquin Valley: Dense Fog Advisory through late this morning. CA-99 impacted.

— Areas of coastal and coastal mountain ranges of Southern CA: High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories today for Santa Ana winds. Gusts 50-75 mph. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, US-101 all impacted.

— Northwest MT Rocky Mountain Front: High Wind Warning today. Gusts 60-80 mph.

— South-central MT: Wind Advisory through Friday evening in the Beartooth Foothills and Livingston areas, east of Bozeman. Gusts to 65 mph. I-90 impacted from Livingston to Big Timber.

— Portions of northeast MT: High Wind Warning this afternoon through midday Friday. Gusts to 60 mph. US-191 impacted.

— Southeast WY: High Wind Warnings through midday Friday. Gusts to 65 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.

— Far-west TX, adjacent NM: Wind Advisory through midday today. Gusts to 45 mph. I-10 impacted.

— Central and northeast TX: Wind Advisories through late this afternoon. Gusts to 40 mph. I-20, I-30, I-35, I-45 impacted.

— TX Gulf Coast: Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms on Thursday. Potential for isolated flash flooding. I-10, I-45 may be impacted.

— Far-south TX: Flood Watch through this afternoon. I-4 potentially impacted.

— Far-western NY, extreme northwest PA: Winter Storm Watch late tonight through Saturday morning. Potential for 8 inches of lake effect snow. I-90/NY Thruway, I-79 potentially impacted.

— Central and eastern PA, NY south of the Mohawk River Valley: Strong winds gusting 30-40 mph Friday afternoon and evening. No Advisories at this time. I-76/PA Turnpike, I-80, I-84, I-87/NY Thruway likely impacted.

— Far-northern NY, northern VT, northern NH, northern ME: Winter Storm Watches Friday morning through Saturday afternoon. 4-10 inches snow possible, especially in the higher terrain. I-89, I-93, US-11 potentially impacted.
