  • Expect heavy rain and the possibility of a severe thunderstorm or two in Arkansas and Tennessee tonight and Sunday.
  • West Coast gets a break in the weather for several days.

Here’s the long-range travel & RV weather outlook (updated Wednesday evening)

— Southwest WA, immediately south of Puget Sound: Flood Warnings through Monday morning. I-5 potentially impacted.

— Central CA North Bay Area; Central and Southern San Joaquin Valley: Dense Fog Advisories through late this morning. CA-99 impacted.

— Northeast ID; west-central MT: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through midday. Up to 1-3 inches of additional snow likely with higher amounts in the mountains. I-90 impacted.

— North-central CO and adjacent WY Elkhead and Park Mountains and Flat Tops: Winter Weather Advisory through this afternoon. Up to 4-8 inches additional snow accumulation likely.

— Southeast WY: High Wind Warning through late this afternoon. Gusts to 65 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.

— East-central NM east of Albuquerque: Wind Advisory from mid-morning through this afternoon. Gusts to 45 mph. I-40 impacted.

— Northern and eastern ND; adjacent MN; extreme northeast SD: Blizzard Warning (eastern ND) and Winter Weather Advisories through this evening. Blowing snow, wind gusts 45-50 mph and very cold temperatures. I-29, I-94 impacted.

— South TX Gulf Coast: Dense Fog Advisory through late this morning.

— Central and east-central AR; western and central TN: Heavy rains and strong thunderstorms late tonight through Sunday morning. Slight risk of flash flooding. One or two thunderstorms could approach severe intensity. No advisories currently issued. I-40, I-44, I-65 potentially impacted.

— Southeast IA; central and eastern MO; most of IL: Winter Weather Advisories through this evening for freezing drizzle and freezing rain. Untreated roads will be highly impacted. Major highways potentially impacted include I-39, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-74, I-80/90/Indiana Toll Rd, I-94

— Northern IN; southwest MI: Winter Weather Advisories late this afternoon through early Sunday morning for freezing rain. Untreated roads will be highly impacted. (See entry above for roads impacted).

— Most of PA except western portions; MD except the Eastern Shore; northern NJ; NY south of I-90; northwest and central CT; central and western MA; southern VT: Winter Weather Advisories tonight and Sunday for freezing rain and snow. Up to an inch of snow, but greater hazard will be the ice. Untreated roads will be highly impacted. Greatest ice accumulations will be in central PA. Major highways potentially impacted include. I-68, I-70, I-76/PA Turnpike, I-80, I-81, I-84, I-87/NY Thruway, I-88, I-90/Mass Pike, I-91, I-99.
