  • Rain and snow today for parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies; storms resume Tuesday afternoon. Storms starting Tuesday may continue for five days.
  • Developing low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will spread rain showers and thunderstorms over much of Florida tonight and Tuesday.
  • Some snow for the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest tonight and Tuesday.

Here’s the long-range travel & RV weather outlook (updated yesterday evening)

— WA and OR Cascades, northern OR, southern WA, northern ID, northwest MT: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through late this afternoon. Additional snow accumulations will vary between a few inches in the valleys to 5-10 inches in the Cascades. I-84, I-90 impacted.

— West-central OR: Flood Watch through this morning. I-5 potentially impacted.

— Northwest NV: Freezing Fog Advisory through late this morning. I-80, US-50 impacted.

— Northern CA and CA Sierra Nevada Range: Winter Storm Watches Tuesday evening through Sunday(!) afternoon. This will be a 5-day snow event. Snow levels 4500-5000 feet. Accumulations may range from 1-3 feet at lower elevations to 5-7 feet on the higher passes. I-5, I-80, US-50 have the potential to be highly impacted.

— Central CA: Dense Fog Advisory through midday today for the San Joaquin Valley. I-5, CA-99 impacted.

— East-central, south-central MT: Winter Weather Advisories through early afternoon. 1-3 inches snow expected.

— South-central MT Livingston area and Beartooth Foothills. Wind Advisory this evening through midday Wednesday. Gusts to 65 mph. I-90, US-191 impacted.

— Southeast and east-central WY: High Wind Warnings and Watches this evening through midday Tuesday. Gusts 60-70 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.

— MT Southern Big Horn Mountains and WY Sheridan Foothills: Winter Weather Advisory for freezing drizzle, freezing fog and light snow through midday today. I-25/I-90 very slick.

— Northwest WY Cody Foothills: High Wind Warning this afternoon through Tuesday morning. Gusts 60-75 mph.

— Eastern ND, northern MN, northern WI: Snow late tonight and Tuesday spreading west to each. Accumulations generally 1-3 inches. No warnings currently issued. I-29, I-35, I-94 impacted.

— FL Peninsula: Expect some strong or possibly severe thunderstorms tonight and Tuesday. Some localized flooding possible on the Space Coast. I-4, I-75, I-95 impacted.
