  • Sunday’s major winter storm continues to impact much of the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Travel not advised.
    • Expect wind gusts 35-50 mph
    • 2-4 inches additional snowfall
    • Coastal flooding with tides running 1-3 feet above normal from North Carolina to Maine.

Here’s the long-range travel & RV weather outlook (updated last afternoon)

— South-central WA; western, southern and eastern OR; southwest and west-central ID: Dense Fog, Freezing Fog and Air Stagnation Advisories through midday today. I-5, I-84 impacted.

— Northwest MT Rocky Mountain Front: High Wind Warning through midnight tonight. Gusts 60-75 mph. I-15 impacted.

— Central and south-central MT: Winter Weather Advisory from tonight through early Wednesday. Up to 4 inches snow expected. I-15, I-90 impacted.

— South-central MT: Wind Advisory through midday Tuesday for Beartooth Foothills and Livingston area. Gusts 55-65 mph. I-90 impacted.

— Southeast WY: High Wind Warnings through this evening. Gusts 60-65 mph. I-90 / I-25 impacted.

— Eastern MT, ND, northern SD, far-western MN: Strong winds Tuesday midday through Tuesday evening. Gusts 40-50 mph. Expect advisories to be issued later today or tomorrow. I-29, I-94, I-90 impacted.

— MN Arrowhead: Winter Storm Watch Tuesday. 4-7 inches snow expected and wind gusts to 35 mph.

— Central and eastern KY; north-central and northeast TN: Winter Weather Advisories this morning for hazardous road conditions and an additional inch of snow. I-40, I-64, I-65, I-75, I-81 impacted.

— Central NC: Winter Weather Advisory this morning for black ice. Untreated roadways very hazardous. Any untreated portion of I-85, I-95 impacted.

— ME, VT, NH, MA except for coastal areas; CT; NY; PA except southeast; central and eastern OH; western MD; WV: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories remain in place today. 2-4 additional inches snow generally expected. Many major highways remain snow or ice covered and hazardous for RV’s.

— Much of Eastern U.S. from New England to Georgia, from the Appalachians to the coast: Very strong winds today. Gusts. 35-55 mph. Numerous High Wind Warnings and Advisories throughout the region. Winds highest both along the New England coast and the higher elevations of the Appalachians in MD, WV and VA.

— Most coastal regions from NC to ME: Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories today. Tides running 1-3 feet above sea level, creating hazardous camping conditions along the immediate coast.
