- Progressively colder weather systems in the Western U.S. will bring areas of rain, heavy mountain snow, and gusty winds. Snow levels and accumulating snows may drop to near sea-level by Christmas Day in the Pacific Northwest.
- Heavy rain in the Southwest may produce flash flooding.
- High winds in the Plains will impede travel.
- Eastern New York and southern New England will have freezing rain and some snow late Christmas Eve into Christmas Day.

— WA Olympic and Cascade mountains; OR Cascade mountains; western OR; northern CA: Winter Storm Warnings, Watches and Advisories through Saturday. Snow levels at 3000 feet but decreasing to less than 1000 feet by Christmas morning. Accumulations will range from inches at low elevations to feet in the passes. I-5, I-90 highly impacted.
— CA Sierra Nevada Range: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Tuesday morning. Snow levels decrease to 1000 feet. Additional accumulations of 3-6 feet are likely; some places may see up to 12 feet of snow. I-80, US-50, US-88 highly impacted and will likely become impassible.
— Northwest and west-central NV: Wind Advisory this afternoon through Saturday morning. Gusts to 55 mph. I-80 impacted.
— Portions of southern CA: Flood Watch through midday today. I-8, I-10, I-15 potentially impacted.
— Southern CA Mountains above 7000 feet: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through midday today. Snow accumulations 8-12 inches with higher amounts above 8500 feet.
— Southern CA east slopes of the San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego County mountains: Wind Advisory Friday. Gusts to 55 mph. I-8, I-10 impacted.
— West-central AZ: Flash Flood Watch today, especially for the Flag Burn area. I-40 potentially impacted.
— Central AZ above 6500 feet: Winter Weather Advisory today. 4-8 inches snow likely. I-40 impacted.
— Northern ID and adjacent WA and MT; central and southern ID; eastern NV; southwest MT; western WY; northeast, central and southwest UT; western CO and adjacent WY and NM. Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Saturday. 3-12 inches of snow in the valleys and lower elevations; 1-3 feet of snow in the mountains and passes. I-15, I-70, I-80, I-84, I-90 impacted.
— Southeast and east-central AZ; southern, central and eastern NM; east-central and southeast CO; western TX including most of the Panhandle; OK Panhandle: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through this evening. Gusts 55-70 mph.I-10, I-25, I-40 impacted.
