- Today is the first day of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season and on cue, Tropical Depression 02 has formed in the Northeast Gulf of Mexico. Minimal threat to the U.S. coastline.
- High pressure still anchored firmly over the Central U.S. Only slow changes in the day-to-day weather.
- Chances for organized severe thunderstorms are low throughout this period.
Extended outlooks are more general in nature and higher level than the daily short term forecasts. I will note where there is less, or greater, confidence than normal in these extended outlooks.
