The strongest thunderstorms and heaviest rainshowers move into eastern and northeast TX, northwest AR, southeast MO and southern IL. An early-season heat wave continues to impact portions of interior CA. Excessive heat spreads to portions of NV and ID by midweek.

— Northern CA: Excessive Heat Warning through Wednesday for northern and central Sacramento Valley. Highs 100-110 deg F. I-5 impacted.

— Central CA: Excessive Heat Warning through Wednesday for portions of the San Joaquin Valley. Highs 101-107 deg F. I-5 impacted.

— Interior deserts of southeast CA, southern NV, the CA/AZ border: Excessive Heat Warnings Wednesday through Friday. Highs 104-111 deg F. I-15, I-40 impacted.

— Southeast ID Valleys: Excessive Heat Watch for Thursday. Highs around 100 deg F. I-84 impacted.

— South-central and southeast NE, north-central and northeast KS, southern ID, far-northern MO, east-central IL: Dense Fog Advisories through midmorning. I-35, I-80 impacted.

— Eastern OK, northwest MO: Flash Flood Watches through Tuesday (OK) and Wednesday MO). I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.

— Eastern VA, DC, most of MD, northern DE, southeast PA: Slight risk of severe thunderstorms Thursday. Locally damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat.
