A dangerous heat wave will begin across the Northwest south into southern CA today, lingering through the week. This event has the potential to break multiple all-time records. Excessive rainfall will continue threats for additional flash flooding from the southern Plains into the Great Lakes.

— WA, OR, interior northern CA, northwest NV; south-central, western, and northern ID; northwest MT: Excessive Heat Warnings through Thursday. Temperatures may exceed 110 deg F in places. I-5, I-84, I-90 impacted.

— Portions of interior southern CA, southwestern NV: Excessive Heat Warnings through Monday. Temperatures 106-118 deg F likely. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, CA-58 impacted.

— North-central NM: Flash Flood Watch this afternoon and evening.

— Southeast NM, western TX, TX Panhandle, central and northeast OK, southeast KS, southwest MO, northwest AR: Flood and Flash Flood Watches through this evening. I-10, I-20, I-35, I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.

— Northern IL, northern IN, southwest MI: Flash Flood Watches through mid-morning.
