Severe weather threat this afternoon and evening for portions of eastern MT, ND and northern New England. Early-summer heat wave spreads across the Northern Plains and into the Upper Midwest and Northeast by Sunday. Heavy rains with flash flooding potential for the west-central Gulf Coast this weekend.

— Interior valleys. and. deserts of southeast CA, southern NV, the CA/AZ border: Excessive Heat Warnings today. Highs 105-114 deg F. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40 impacted.

— Southeast ID: Wind Advisory today. Gusts to 45 mph. I-15 impacted.

— Northwest WY Absaroka Mountains: Flood Watch through Monday afternoon for rapid snowmelt.

— Valleys of southeast and southwest UT and Grand Canyon AZ below 4000 feet: Excessive Heat Warnings today. Highs around 105 deg F. I-15, I-80 St. George and Lake Powell regions impacted.

— Eastern MT, northwest ND: Slight chance of severe thunderstorms today. I-94 potentially impacted.

— Southern LA: Flash Flood Watches through Sunday. I-10, I-12 potentially impacted.

— Far northern NY, northern VT, central and northern NH, southern and central ME: Slight chance of severe thunderstorms today. I-95 potentially impacted.
